DMSG257 Cardiac Clinical Education IV

This course is a continued hands-on application of cardiac sonographic scanning procedures in an echocardiography laboratory focusing on identification and documentation of cardiac pathology. Under supervision, students practice the clinical skills necessary to perform advanced techniques and specialty applications in acquired and congenital disease states. Throughout the clinical rotation, emphasis is placed on developing the student’s interpersonal skills with patients and staff. Film critique is a critical componentIndependent scanning may take place when competency has been demonstrated. Restricted to DMS students.
