DMSG225 Cardiac Clinical Education III

This course is a continued hands-on clinical application practice of cardiac ultrasound in an echocardiography laboratory focusing on identification and documentation of cardiac pathology. Under supervision, students practice the clinical skills necessary to perform advanced techniques and specialty applications in acquired and congenital disease states. Film critique is a critical componentIndependent scanning may take place when competency has been demonstrated. Students will also observe and assist with stress echocardiography and transesophageal echo. This clinical rotation consists of 336 clinical hours and will include pediatric and adult congenital rotations. Restricted to DMS students.
