RESP102 Respiratory Care Pharmacology

This course introduces respiratory care students to the study of pharmacological principles in the care and treatment of cardiopulmonary patients across the lifespan. Students will learn the biochemical and physiological effects medications have on body systems and their therapeutic use in treating a variety of cardiopulmonary conditions. Indications, desired effects, side effects and patient education implications will also be covered in the course. Students will be introduced to drug dosage calculations and basic principles and methods of medication administration. Restricted to Respiratory Care Students.
