Overview
Narrative
General Education courses are at the core of all two and four-year degree programs. Northampton's General Education Specialized Diploma recognizes and validates the value of the knowledge and skills students acquire in these courses. Upon completion, you will be prepared to re-enter the workforce as a stronger candidate, continue your two-year degree at Northampton, or transfer to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor's degree.
Features
Our General Education Specialized Diploma is a stackable credential designed to capture a student's first steps as a dual enrollment student, increasing their career readiness or attaining a two- or four-year degree. It aligns with the National Associations of College and Employers (NACE) Career Competencies and reflects the General Education courses that transfer within the Pennsylvania state college. If you wish to attend another school, we suggest you choose elective courses that are transferable to the institution of your choice. We encourage you to work closely with your academic advisor, as well as a transfer advisor in the Academic Advising Office, to ensure your greatest opportunity for a smooth and successful transition to a four-year institution.
