ARTA162 Sculpture

This course provides a hands-on introduction to methods, techniques and aesthetics of sculpture. Students will be guided through a series of projects using a variety of traditional sculptural media such as wood, plaster, stone, metal, plastic, and new technologies with digital methods that aid in the creation of sculpture such as 3D printing, laser cutting/engraving, and CNC machining. Students will develop technical, perceptual, and analytical skills, which will be emphasized along with an understanding of historical and contemporary sculpture practices.
