Narrative

The AAS degree in Networking Systems Technology will prepare students to use leading tools and technologies to build and maintain new and existing network systems. Through this program, students will study how to activate accounts; implement security controls; install and configure servers, routers and switches; monitor network performance; and troubleshoot problems. Extensive hands-on lab time on real and current equipment will prepare you for a successful career as a Network Specialist, Systems Administrator, Network Engineer, etc.

At NCC, you’ll gain valuable, marketable skills in data communication, modern computer network architecture and design, server operating systems, network performance analysis, and the latest networking technology. The NCC AAS in IT Networking program will prepare you for leading industry certifications including CCNA, MCSA, A+ and Net+. Depending on your electives, NCC’s IT Networking Program can also prepare you for Security+, CEH, and CISSP certifications.

Outcomes

Graduates of the program will:

  • Analyze, plan, design, and document IT network specifications to build a corporate network supporting WLAN, LAN, WAN, VoIP and cloud technologies. 
  • Understand layered models (including TCP/IP and OSI) for communications standards and protocols.
  • Install, configure, secure, and manage servers and networking hardware including routers and switches. 
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate common problems; document and implement appropriate network connectivity solutions. 
  • Execute basic security, access control and other policies within the networking architecture.
